Summer Camps at The Nicolaysen Art Museum
Get ready for a summer full of creativity, curiosity, and hands-on fun! The NIC’s 2025 Summer Camps offer a wide range of artistic experiences for kids and teens ages 6–15. From painting and photography to street art, sculpture, and science-based adventures, each camp is designed to spark imagination and build confidence through the power of art.
Led by experienced educators and local artists, our camps are welcoming, engaging, and packed with opportunities to explore new materials, techniques, and ideas in a supportive, creative environment. Whether your child is a first-time camper or a returning NIC kid, there’s something inspiring waiting for them this summer.
Scholarships are available to help make camps accessible to more families.

Creativity in Motion
June 22–26
9 AM–12 PM
Ages: 7–15 years old
Fees: $140 per child for NIC members | $180 per child for not-yet-members

Camp Description:
Little yogis and budding artists are invited to join us for a week of exploring movement of the body and mind through mixed-media projects and yoga exercises.
Campers will learn to breathe, focus, and create while surrounded by nature and fellow art enthusiasts.

Camp Description:
Get ready for an out-of-this-world adventure! Campers will split their day between space science at The Science Zone and creative artmaking at The Nicolaysen Art Museum.
They’ll launch rockets, explore constellations, use telescopes, visit the planetarium, and turn their cosmic discoveries into stellar works of art. This camp is a perfect blend of science, creativity, and imagination.

Design Challenge
July 13–17

Ages: 11–15 years old

Camp Description:
Are you up for a challenge? Design Challenge camp is here to stretch your skill set in new and interesting directions.
Campers will explore how the same design can be created through vastly different mediums while building creative problem-solving skills along the way.

Camp Description:
Sculpt your way through a wonderful week of camp while making fun and exciting objects that can be both decorative and functional.
Campers will explore a variety of media through hands-on projects, so be prepared to get a little messy!

Step into the Art Lab! In collaboration with The Science Zone, this hands-on camp lets young artists get messy and have fun while exploring art and science together.
Campers will experiment, create, and discover while blending creativity and curiosity to spark imagination and inspire new ideas.

Who’s ready to POP? Pop art and culture come together for a super fun week of camp.
Campers will explore the origins of the Pop Art movement while looking at how pop culture has changed and evolved over the years.
