A Teacher in Every Art: Celebrating 50 Years of Russin's Prometheus

This multi-venue exhibition honors the life and legacy of renowned sculptor and educator Robert Russin and the 50th anniversary of his iconic sculpture, Prometheus. Through a selection of original sculptures, maquettes, drawings, and archival materials, the exhibition explores Russin’s artistic journey, his deep connection to Wyoming, and his lasting impact on public art and arts education.

Presented across three Casper institutions—The Nicolaysen Art Museum, Natrona County Library, and Fort Caspar Museum—the exhibit invites viewers to experience Russin’s work from multiple perspectives: as an artist, a teacher, and a visionary.

From large-scale public monuments to intimate depictions of family and abstract explorations of the human form, A Teacher in Every Art highlights the breadth of Russin’s creative legacy and the stories behind the pieces that have become part of Wyoming’s cultural landscape.
