NIC 13th Annual Art Show and Sale-Bigger and Better than Ever!
Casper-Each year the Nicolaysen Art Museum and Discovery Center hosts the Art Show and Sale. This year the sale will be held November 9th – 11th. During this event over fifty artists from the Rocky Mountain Region fill booths throughout the museum to exhibit and sell their work at this juried art show and sale. It is quite a sight to see thousands of buyers and visitors converge on the NIC to see and celebrate the inspiring works of these very diverse artists. Many shoppers come back every year to enjoy the sights, sounds and tastes of this festive event. This is a great place for everyone to do their holiday shopping as many items are priced very reasonably. You will find original and unique works of art in many mediums including jewelry, furniture, painting, ceramics, fiber art, photography, leather, glass and so much more!
This three day event is more than an Art Show and Sale. It is a social, cultural and educational event that begins with the Thursday Night Preview, which is open to the public and features Hot Jazz and Cool Art on November 9th from 6-10pm. We will feature the band, Ju Ju Jazz and wonderful hors d’oeurvres, will be served by GeGi’s restaurant. The evening’s hors d’oeurvres include specialty breads, imported and domestic cheeses, as well as displays of fresh fruit. Tickets for this evening event are $15 for members and $20 for non-members.
Friday and Saturday are open to the public and Gegi’s will offer a gourmet lunch for sale. This year on Saturday morning the NIC will be providing a free Mozart & Muffin Breakfast from 9am-11am.
At the show artists enjoy networking with one another as much as they do visiting with buyers. Participating artists come to the NIC from the Casper community and the Rocky Mountain Region. Half of our artists are from outside the Casper Area and a growing number are from outside the state. Past artists’ surveys and the large number of out of state inquires to participate confirms the NIC’s Art Show & Sale is a favorite among artists. We currently have a waiting list of over forty artists who want to participate in this show. Consequently, we successfully launched the NIC Summer Arts Festival this past June to introduce these artists to the Casper community. This is a sale you won’t want to miss!!
