Artist of the Month- Lenore Poitras
CASPER- Have you ever wanted to craft your own fine silver jewelry? Now you can during the Nicolaysen Art Museum’s Eighth Artist of the Month Workshop featuring Lenore Poitras January 26th-28th! Create your own, one of a kind pair of stamped earrings, a hollow form bead to use as a charm for any chain, a silver leaf for a pendant or a pin, a double fired ring and a 3-D lentil bead in this exciting 3 day workshop. The workshop will be held from 6:00 - 9:00 pm on Friday the 26th and 9:00 am - 3:00 pm on Saturday the 27th and Sunday the 28th. The cost for the class is $100. This covers the cost of materials, which includes the Precious Metal Clay, a finely powdered silver in an organic binder with water. This product can be worked like clay which means it can be rolled, stamped or textured. When it is fired it becomes a solid piece of fine silver which is .995 pure.
Lenore Poitras, our Artist of the Month for January, is a Rio Rewards Certified PMC Artisan. She specializes in working with this material. Her work will be on display in February.
