Charitable Planning

In addition to outright gifts of money, there are other methods of giving to benefit the Museum and the community. These include:

Insurance: The Nicolaysen Art Museum & Discovery Center may be named as the beneficiary of a life insurance policy or retirement pension plan.

Bank Accounts: Bank accounts, certificates of deposits, or individual retirement accounts may be placed in trust for or made payable on death to the Nicolaysen, in accord with local bank requirements.

Stocks and Bonds: Stocks and bonds may be donated to the Nicolaysen Art Museum & Discovery Center as an outright gift.

Real Estate:

Salable real estate may be donated either by making an outright gift or, in case of residential property, by reserving a life estate to the donor, who can continue to live therein during his or her lifetime. Contact the Financial Committee before deeding any real estate.

Deferred Gifts With Income Benefits

Gift Annuity: A gift annuity is an arrangement whereby one transfers money or securities to a designated 501c3 organization like the Nicolaysen. In exchange, the donor, or someone designated by the donor, receives a specified annuity payment every year for life. The donor receives an income tax deduction for the year in which the gift annuity is established.

Deferred Gifts  - Wills and Trusts:

Property or money may be bequeathed to the Nicolaysen Art Museum & Discovery by means of a legally executed will, or the Nicolaysen may be named as beneficiary of a trust agreement. A trust benefiting a non-profit organization may provide certain tax advantages.

Contributions To The NIC

Art and culture activities not only contribute to the economic health of communities they also create opportunities that enrich peoples’ lives and relationships with others. Positive outcomes can be realized through both individual and group cultural activities. The use of one’s creative abilities and potential is an influential motivator for those who participate in art culture experiences. When involved in expressive activity, we feel in touch with our real self.

Wyoming is a population which is unexposed in many ways to contemporary art. The Nicolaysen Art Museum, the only regional contemporary art museum in the state, strives to fulfill that void by bringing locally, nationally and regionally known artist exhibitions into the museum.
