This exhibition, which features more than 100 items from artists all over the United States plus Canada and Israel, explores the cultural meaning that shoes have. It presents imaginative objects of every size and art medium. “This unique and varied exhibition explores the shoe and its relationship to history, culture and art through recent works from contemporary artists from 2004 to the present,” NIC Curator Lisa Hatchadoorian said. “The Perfect Fit: Shoes Tell Stories” was organized by the Fuller Craft Museum in Brockton, Mass. Wendy Tarlow Kaplan, curator. This exhibition has been made possible through partial funding of the Carolyn R. Graboys Fund.
