Description

The Nicolaysen Art Museum is seeking a passionate, full-time Director of Development with established non-profit or museum fund-raising and grant writing experience. As a senior staff member, the Director of Development will play a major role in a highly accomplished cultural institution with a million dollar operating budget and will be an integral staff member of this exciting contemporary art museum. The NIC seeks an experienced development professional with excellent management and organizational skills to manage and grow existing fundraising programs as well as the initiative to seek out new funding opportunities within the region from both private and corporate sponsors. The preferred candidate will possess in-depth, hands-on experience and a proven record of success in the development department of a museum or comparable experience within the non-profit sector.

The Director of Development is responsible for cultivating new donor opportunities, spearheading the annual fund and endowment campaigns, growing our planned giving initiatives, membership drives, securing event and public art project sponsorships, maintaining and growing our community relations as well as intensive grant writing.

Requirements

The preferred candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of one-three years experience in all aspects of development from directing various giving campaigns to grant writing, building membership, and soliciting new avenues of support.
