Create a unique animal portrait. This animal can be real, imaginary or even a favorite pet. Bring images for reference if you like. Week Two (June 15-18) Adventures in Painting This hands-on painting class is all about the process of creating and exploring art. Experience a tactile, textural approach to painting as you and your child try out different techniques on a variety of surfaces. This class is for children and their parent (or adult). Please dress in clothes that can get messy and won’t get in the way of your creativity. Micro-Masterpieces Shrinky Dinks, a classic from 1973, is a shrinkable plastic sheeting that becomes a third of its original size when heated. Try your hand at different types of coloring techniques and create amazing micro art. Clayboard Creations An ideal surface for mixed-media artwork, painting on clayboard can be approached in a loose, stylized manner--acrylics, inks, pens, pencils, etching tools and collage are a few of the materials that will be used. Try out the endless materials and possibilities offered when using this exciting medium.
